Contemporary Worship Music Ensemble (youth, 9th to 12th grades and adult)
Sundays, 7:45 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. - Sanctuary (1st floor)
The Contemporary Worship Music Ensemble prepares and leads the songs of praise during worship. Music consists of contemporary and traditional music with a beat. The ensemble is comprised of youth and adults who play guitar, bass, keyboard, sound tech, solo vocalists, drums, etc. There is no audition, but rather an informal interview with the director.
Lunch With The Arts (adult)
Wednesdays, 12:00 p.m. to 12:50 p.m. – Quiet Time Lounge (3rd Floor)
A weekly discussion with Dr. Vozzella that will explore the performing arts including symphonic concerts, ballet, opera, jazz, folk, rock, music history, music theory, the arts in general, and more; Including current events and up-coming performances, locally, nationally and internationally. Bring a bag lunch and be prepared to talk about the theory, practice and history of the arts. Coffee and water will be provided. Soft drinks are available from the soda machine.
Cherubs (children, K to 2nd grade)
Wednesdays, 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. – (3rd floor)
The youngest students in The Academy will enjoy making music, listening to stories and music and with Biblical emphasis, and will be working on art projects. The Cherubs will present musical offerings during worship occasionally, and offer art displays of their work. There is no audition, nor prerequisites for this group. This group is limited to 20 members.
Junior Artists (children, 3rd-5th grades)
Wednesdays, 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. – (3rd floor)
The Junior Artists in The Academy will be learning about and performing music, preparing dramatic presentations, taking guitar or handbell lessons, as well as some music theory, history of the Church and its arts. The Junior Artists will present musical, dramatic and music leadership in worship on a regular basis. There is no audition, nor prerequisites for this group. This group is limited to 20 members.
Chancel Choir (adult)
Wednesdays, 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. – Choir Room (Worship Arts Suite, 3rdfloor)
The Chancel Choir is made up of people who enjoy singing and sharing their faith through music.
They sing a wide variety of anthems, ranging from spirituals to classical, and everything in between.
The Chancel Choir leads the traditional music in our worship services on a weekly basis. There is no audition, but rather an informal interview with the director and upon recommendation of a current member.
Chancel Ringers (adult)
Wednesdays, 6:00 p.m. to 6:55 p.m. – Bell Room (Chapel, 1st floor)
The Chancel Ringers is an adult bell choir which participates in Sunday services in many ways. They share their talents through music, introits, prelude, or offertory pieces, as well as accompanying hymn singing or the vocal choirs. Chancel Ringers plays a wide variety of music, ranging from spirituals to classical, newly composed tunes to arrangements of hymn-tune favorites and everything in between. We play 5-octaves of handbells and choir Chimes. We participate regularly in worship from September to May.There is no audition, but rather an informal interview with the director.
E-Troupe (youth, 6th to 12th grade)
Sundays, 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. – Choir Room (Worship Arts Suite, 3rdfloor)
E-Troupe is a dynamic group of junior high and high school students who have chosen to use their gifts and talents in music (vocal and instrumental) and drama, both sacred and secular (pop, jazz, Broadway, film and theater) for the glory of God. This crazy group of young people rehearses every Sunday and lead in worship on a regular basis. In addition to rehearsing, we also go on a Retreat in the fall, go on Tour in the spring, eat a lot of food, and have way too much fun. There is no audition, but rather an informal interview with the director. This group is limited to 20 members.
